I've recently been diagnosed with fibro. on amytriptyline for it, but dont think its working any more. went back to docs to say my symptoms are quite bad and i dont think the dose is working anymore. His response was cognitive therapy to learn to cope with my constant headaches, aches and pains, and constant exhaustion. No discussions of looking into it further, no offer of upping the dose, no possible swap to a new medication!!!
the only reason i got the diagnosis in the first place was because i had a number of issues with multiple joints. Degeneration - which apparently nobody is concerned about either even though i am 36, have a normal diet, dont drink, dont smoke, i'm not overweight and have never really been, though obviously like most women, i'm never totally satisfied with my weight, but its a healthy range.
i'm meant to be going back for a 2nd round of blood tests, but really all he wants to prove is my vitamin d is low and thats causing all of my symptoms. I take a suppliment for that!
I'm now at a point where i'm thinking whats the point of bothering with the blood tests as they never show anything, other than vit d, and they all just want me to talllk about it!!! i'm sick of talking about it to folk who just dont listen!
