The desperation of survival

I'll never forget my friends mother who had breast cancer. She didn't respond to any of the treatments and kept getting sicker.

I watched a vibrant woman lose her breasts and then fight for her life. Towards the end she started trying almost any natural therapy. We all thought she went crazy and she experienced chemo brain. We were all told it wasn't possible, that made her furious, especially when it from the doctor. She became enraged at some of their dismissive comments.

As she approached the end she tried almost everything haphazardly. When we asked her why? She said she wanted to see her grandkids grow up.
